Consulting Rosarian Report by Carol Ann Rogers |
First
of all, I would like to congratulate Wally and Marty Parsons from Westfield, MA
on becoming our newest Consulting Rosarians in the Yankee District. They
attended the CR school in Toronto this fall and are members of the Connecticut
Rose Society.
The next CR school is being planned for the spring of 2003. All of our current CRs except for the Parsons and those who audited the classes in 2001 are required to audit this school or a school in a neighboring district before the end of 2003.
To become a Consulting Rosarian one must:
1. Have been a member, either regular or associate, of the American Rose Society for three consecutive years.
2. Be an active member of a local rose society.
3. Must have grown roses of various types for a least 5 years and should be knowledgeable in all equipment and materials related to rose culture.
4. Must provide three letters of recommendation by any three Consulting Rosarians on the form provided by the District Consulting Rosarian Chairman.
5. Must attend an ARS school/workshop for Consulting Rosarians and complete an open book examination based on the material contained in the Consulting Rosarian Manual.
6. Must know and be willing to live up to the Consulting Rosarian Guide.
7. Must be willing to attend no less than one Consulting Rosarian School/Seminar in every three-year period, which corresponds, to the District Director’s term of office.
8. Must submit a completed individual report form to the District Chairman of Consulting Rosarians by the date designated by the District Director.
9. Must exhibit a continuing willingness to share knowledge and an enthusiasm for the rose and the American Rose Society.
The new Consulting Rosarian Manual from which the school will be based on is available from the ARS. Call 1-800-637-6534 to order.
The Home Depot project is coming together nicely, and it appears that it will be an enjoyable event for CRs to participate in, and thanks to all who have been working so diligently on it.
Everyone should have received their yearly surveys, and I’m looking forward to having the best return ever!
